On 25 October in the company of partners, stakeholders, and friends in our community, WHISE launched its next strategic plan – view photos
The plan sits as one component of an architecture that will guide the work of WHISE over the next five years.This plan is the result of over 10 months of work, consulting with our partners, key stakeholders, researching the needs of our region and determining our role in securing a future for women in our region where they are safe, healthy and thriving.

Social impact
Measuring our impact of our community over the life of our strategic plan is important for WHISE if we are truly going to be able to understand the way that our actions can contribute to making a difference.
Partnering with 180 Degrees Consulting – a worldwide consulting service for non-profits, social enterprises and socially minded companies – a social impact framework was developed. Based on a Theory of Change model, it links our inputs to our vision for a region where women are safe, healthy and thriving.
For WHISE, the measuring of our impact is both an activity in transparency and accountability and, of learning. We look forward to the ongoing opportunity to report on our progress and share the outcomes of our work in the community.
The state of women’s health in the south-east – An environmental scan
To support our work and to be transparent about the evidence and research that we are using to support out goals and impact, WHISE has created an environmental scan. The benefit of escan’s is that they produce just in time snapshots of our region that can evolve as the evidence and research grows.
WHISE does not consider itself a knowledge originator but rather translators – we are part of the process that takes research created by our many great research organisations and puts it into practice. Being clear about what knowledge we are looking to is part of this and, overtime this site will evolve as we add additional research, insights and also the tools that we create to assist in this translation process.
