Kit McMahon, WHISE CEO was proud to one of a long list of advocates on the agenda at the Senate Inquiry into Universal Access to Reproductive Healthcare Public Hearing, held in Melbourne on 28 April, 2023.The inquiry was initiated by the Greens in 2022 with the aim to look into a set of priorities set out by the National Women’s Health Strategy.

These included ‘universal access to sexual and reproductive health information, treatment and services that offer options to women to empower choice, and control in decision-making about their bodies’.

Joining forces with other members of the Victorian Women’s Health Services Network to provide evidence, Kit said, ‘A core part of WHISE’s work is to communicate and advocate for women and their health and we welcome the opportunity to contribute to the work of the Inquiry.’The level of interest and involvement in this Senate Inquiry shows the level of work and energy that is required to ensure that we have an equitable health system for women. WHISE is one organisation advocating for change with many others.’
