On Tuesday 22 November 2022, the team at Community Block invited WHISE to talk about this year’s 16 Days of Activism Against Gendered-Violence campaign on Southern FM 88.3.

16 Days of Activism is a global, annual campaign that begins on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, and ends on 10 December, International Human Rights Day.

Presenter Kate Knight speaks with WHISE’s Zoe Francis, who is a key player in organising and promoting the campaign.

Together they discuss the ideas that drive 16 Days of Activism and why WHISE decides to get involved each year. Zoe Francis also gives advice to those who are either wanting to get involved or want to know about how they are able to make positive changes in their own lives.

Listen to the interview below or read the attached transcript. Learn more about changing the conversation, moving past problematic gender norms and our shared social biases, and see how you can be involved in 16 Days of Activism and beyond.
