This report evaluates a community education session delivered by WHISE and Community First Responders in Balwyn in September 2026, with funding from the City of Boroondara and support from Rotary Balwyn. The session brought together family violence first response and CPR training for community members and professionals without specialist training, framing bystander readiness as a single, learnable capacity rather than two separate skills. The family violence component covered recognition, response and referral, including the 5D bystander model and practical language for responding to disclosures. The evaluation captures shifts in participant knowledge and confidence across both areas.
