This report evaluates a mental health promotion project delivered by WHISE in partnership with Springvale Rise Primary School, funded through an Australia Post Community Grant. Across five workshops held separately with women and men, the project offered culturally safe, strengths-based mental health sessions for migrant and refugee community members in Springvale, using a gender-transformative approach to address intergenerational trauma, reduce stigma and improve access to multilingual mental health resources. Co-designed with school staff, parents and community members, the project was embedded in an existing relationship of trust with families in the area. The evaluation captures community members’ experience of the sessions and what the project contributed to mental health literacy and help-seeking in the local community.
