IDAHOBIT day is the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism and Transphobia. The day raises awareness of the violence and discrimination against LGBTQIA+ communities worldwide.
This toolkit was developed as part of the Good Health Down South partnership, including WHISE, Central Bayside Community Health Services (CBCHS), and Secondary School Nurses (DET). This resource offers suggestions for how schools can highlight IDAHOBIT Day and link with local LGBTQIA+ groups for young people in the South-East.
The more people involved in standing up against discrimination, and generating an understanding of what it means to be an inclusive community, the greater impact you can make.
This resource offers ways to:
- be seen and heard in the school
- upskill the supporters
- share information with families, friends and the community
- link in with local LGBTQIA+ groups
