We’re reaching out to the vibrant and diverse community within Victoria’s Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector, including students and professionals within Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), to extend an invitation to join the “Training for Respect Industry and Stakeholder Advisory Committee.”

This project, supported by the WorkWell Respect Fund, is crucial for developing insights and guiding the activities of the Training for Respect project from a foundation of lived experiences in Victoria’s RTOs and VET sector.

Why Join?

As a member of this committee, you’ll play a pivotal role in:

  • Providing insights and recommendations that influence the project’s decision-making and outcomes.
  • Enhancing the capacity of Victorian RTOs to steer the project’s focus towards impactful outcomes.
  • Collaborating on the development, design, and implementation of prevention focused project activities, products, and resources.

Who Are We Looking For?

We welcome interest from:

  • Educators, teachers, managers, support staff and students from both the private and public sectors, inclusive of rural and regional experiences.
  • Management and leadership personnel within Victorian RTOs, with a keen understanding of VET sector policies and HR practices.
  • Individuals representing the broader VET ecosystem who can bring unique perspectives to the table including from Group Training Organisations and Researchers

About Training for Respect

The “Training for Respect” project, convened by Women’s Health in the South East (WHISE), and is a partnership between WHISE and

  • Women’s Health East,
  • Women’s Health Goulburn North East,
  • Victorian TAFE Association,
  • Independent Tertiary Education Council of Australia (ITECA)
  • Jesuit Social Services (The Mens Project)

Our project aims to address and prevent workplace gendered violence, including sexual harassment, in the VET sector. Our mission is to foster a safer, more respectful working and learning environment across all Victorian RTOs – the workplaces and learning environments. For more information about the project.

How to Apply

If you’re passionate about making a difference and contributing to a safer and more equitable VET sector, we encourage you to express your interest. To apply, please complete the Expression of Interest form. This is your opportunity to become part of a meaningful project that aims to create lasting change.

We’re looking for up to 12 committed individuals to join this committee, contributing to a project that stands to impact the VET sector profoundly. Your experience, insight, and passion can help shape the future of Training for Respect. Let’s work together to create an inclusive, safe, and respectful learning and working environment for everyone in Victoria’s VET sector.
