How We Embed Intersectionality in Our Work

Vibrant Leaves

WHISE commitment to intersectionality

Achieving gender equality requires addressing all forms of inequity. No two persons are the same, no two experiences are the same; the impact of power and decision-making affects people differently.

While both sustaining and cultivating our organisational environment with continual and shared learning, unlearning, shared insights and respect; we embrace our intersectional work rhythm.

An intersectional approach does not set to ‘fix’ or ‘minimise’ a person’s identity, it works to address and influence the relationship and influence of power with these identities.

This Intersectionality Guide is an example of how to apply an intersectional approach and was developed to strengthen our internal learning and unlearning at WHISE; towards progressing gender equality for all.
